Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, has announced of admissions to MBA and Bachelor’s degree programs for spring semester 2013.

MBA 1.5 and 2 Years Program

Applications on the prescribed forms are invited for admission in the following programs by January 30, 2013 positively:

Ineligibility

  1. The following are not eligible for admission to MBA program:
    1. Who have been rusticated or expelled from any university or college for misconduct or use of unfair means in the examinations or any offence involving moral turpitude:
    2. Who were admitted earlier but later were declared to have been ceased to be students of the university:
    3. Who are currently on the rolls of this or any other university.
  2. No Objection Certificate from the employer is required to be attached with Admission Form and routed through Proper Channel in case of in-service applicants.

Subject Test

  • GAT-General conducted by the National Testing Service (www.nts.org.pk) with a minimum 50% cumulative score is required for admission;
  • Applicants who do not hold the valid GAT-General result are advised to register themselves with NTS by January 19, 2013 for QAU Special GAT-General scheduled on January 27, 2013.
  • Only GAT-General passed candidates will be considered for admission to MBA (both programs), without giving any credit to the test score.
  • The admission shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from previous academic record.

Intake

Seats will be filled both on Regular (Regional/Provincial quota) as well as Self-Finance basis. Top 50% seats will be filled on Regular Basis and the rest on Self-Finance, *

Reserved Seats

  1. One seat is reserved for admission of the children of army personnel and would be offered only on the nomination of GHQ.
  2. One seat in each department of the Quaid-i-Azam University is reserved for minorities subject to production of certificate from the institution last attended that the candidate belongs to the minority community.
  3. One seat in each department of the university is reserved for admission of disabled persons subject to the condition that the disabled person must provide his/her disability certificate duly issued by the District Assessment Board along with other conditions as approved by the University Statutory Bodies.

Hostel Accommodation

The university hostel accommodations will be provided on availability.

Financial Assistance/ Scholarships

Quaid-i-Azam University will provide financial assistance to the needy and the deserving/meritorious students admitted on regular basis.

Equivalence Certificates and Conversion of Grades into Marks

  • Applicants having foreign certificates/degrees shall be required to provide equivalence certificates and conversion of the grades into marks from Higher Education Commission, Islamabad for Bachelor level degrees and from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) for Matric and Intermediate levels. Certificates/degrees with CGPA of local universities/ institutions are also required conversion of grades into marks from the universities/ institutions concerned in Pakistan.
  • For all practical purposes MBA degree is equivalent to MS degree.

How to Apply

    2. Application forms can be submitted “online” at QAU website where all relevant instructions are available.
    3. Three copies of the prescribed admission form duly filled in and supported by the attested copies of educational certificates/degrees may be submitted at Admission Camp Office at the back of DRSM (Central) Library during office hours latest by January 30, 2013.
  2. Incomplete and late application forms shall not be entertained.

Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS)

Applications on the prescribed forms are invited for admission in Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS) by January 30, 2013 positively:

Ineligibility

The following are not eligible for admission to BBS program:

  1. Those who have failed in Master’s program of QAU;
  2. Those who have ceased to be the student of Quaid-i-Azam University;
  3. Those who already possess a Master’s or an equivalent degree from this or any other university;
  4. Students who are already on rolls of QAU or any other university;
  5. Those who are more than 26-years old.

Written Test

  1. The NAT-II (any category) conducted by National Testing Service (NTS) with a minimum 40% cumulative score is required for admission to BBS.
  2. Applicants who do not hold the valid NTS NAT-II (any category) results are advised to register themselves with NTS latest by January 19, 2013 for QAU Special NAT-II (any category) scheduled on January 27, 2013. Information is available on NTS website.
  3. Only NTS NAT-II (any category) passed candidates will be considered for admission to BBS which will be determined purely on merit basis without giving any credit to the test score.

Equivalence Certificates and Conversion of Grades into Marks

  1. Applicants having foreign certificates/degrees shall be required to provide equivalence certificates and conversion of the grades into marks from HEC, Islamabad for Bachelor level degrees and from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) for Matric and Intermediate levels. Admission Requirements for M.S./M.Phil.

  • M.S./M.Phil. candidates shall posses at least sixteen years of education (M.A. / M.Sc. / B.S.-4 years degree / BBA/ B.E. / B.Sc. (Engineering) degree or its equivalent qualifications in the relevant subject.
  • The candidate shall have at least 45% marks in the annual examination system or 2.5 CGPA in the semester system examination throughout his / her academic career except in Matriculation and Intermediate examinations.
  • GAT General (NTS) or subject GRE with 50 % accumulative score.
  • Candidate shall have to pass the Departmental Subject Based Written Test (DSBWT) and Interview at University of Gujrat.
  • In service candidates shall submit NOC to apply for admission to M.S. / M.Phil. at University of Gujrat at the time of submission of admission of application and the study leave approval letter from the department concerned shall be required at the time of registration.

Admission Requirements M.A./M.Sc.

  • The candidate shall have sixteen years degree or equivalent qualification in the relevant subject.

Eligibility

  • At least second division for annual system or its equivalent grade based on minimum 50% marks for other than annual system for BS and Master programs.
  • For Ph.D., minimum 3 CGPA on 4 scale semester system, GAT Subject / GRE.
  • For M.Phil., NTS (G), those whose NTS are not clear can apply with the condition to submit undertaking.
  • In-service candidates shall apply through proper channel.
  • Maximum age limit: Bachelor program: 25 years, Master program: 30 years

PIPOS: Admission to Diploma in Prosthetics and Orthotics for 2013

Pakistan Institute of Prosthetic and Orthotic Sciences (PIPOS) is an autonomous institute working under the umbrella of Health Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa providing training and education in the field of prosthetics and orthotics leading to B.Sc. For M.S. / M.Phil.

  1. 1st Division / CGPA => 2.5 in M.A. / M.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) 4 years, or its equivalent in the relevant subject from a recognized university (at least 16 years of education; 130 credit hours).
