Allama Iqbal Open University: Admission Autumn 2010

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has admission open for Autumn 2010 session to following programs.

1. Ph.D. Programs (M.Phil. based)

  • Urdu
  • Islamic Studies
  • Iqbal Studies
  • Chemistry
  • Mass Communication
  • Pakistani Languages and Literature (with specialization in Pashto / Balochi / Brahvi / Sindhi / Saraiki or Punjabi)

2. MS / M.Phil. Programs

  • Mass Communication
  • Chemistry
  • Iqbal Studies
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Islamic Studies

Chemistry and Food and Nutrition programs will only be offered in Islamabad.

3. M.Sc.

  • Economics
  • Pakistan Studies
  • Gender and Women Studies
  • Community Health and Nutrition

The classes for Community Health and Nutrition programs will be held at Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Peshawar and Faisalabad only.

4. Commonwealth MBA / MPA

International program in collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning, Canada.

  • Islamic Studies
  • Urdu

6. Postgraduate Diploma

  • Dietetics for Dieticians
  • Nutrition for Physicians
  • Gender and Women Studies

The classes for Dietetics for Dieticians and Nutrition for Physicians programs will be held at Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Peshawar and Faisalabad only.

7. Bachelor’s Program (Arts and Science)

  • BS (Computer Science) 4 years
  • Bachelor of Commerce
  • Bachelor of Mass Communication
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Library and Information Science

8. Primary Teachers Certificate (PTC)

Eligibility

  • FA / F.Sc. or above educational qualification.
  • Matriculation with 60% marks for males and 50% for females.
  • Students for Balochistan, FATA, FANA and AJK with 45% marks in Matriculation. They will have to attach domicile of these areas.

9. HSSC / Intermediate

  • FA
  • I.Com.
  • F.Sc. (Pre-Engineering)
  • F.Sc. (Pre-Medical)

10. SSC / Matric

Middle pass or studying in 9th class in a recognized institution with at least 13 years of age.

11. Dars-e-Nizami

  • BA (Shahadat-ul-Alia)
  • Higher Secondary (Sanvia Khasa)
  • Secondary (Sanvia Aama)

Candidates from Deeni Madaris can seek admission to Dars-e-Nizami programs while continuing their education in Deeni Madaris.

  • Maintenance of Electrical Appliances (Matric Level)

14. Open Tech Courses

  • Electrician

  • Steel Fixer
  • Quantity Surveyor / Civil Draftsman
  • Civil Surveyor
  • Welding (Electric)
  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

These courses are offered at approved study centers in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Haripur, Buraywala and Kot Adu only.

15. Short Terms Education Program (Non Credit)

Admission to the following programs are open throughout the year. Duration for each course is three (3) months:

  • Hotel Services (5 courses)
  • Management Sciences (22 courses)
  • Community Education (19 courses)
  • Social Sciences (12 courses)

Eligibility for all programs is given in the relevant prospectus.

Instructions for Continuing Students

The computerized admission forms have been dispatched to the continuing education students. In case, the form is not received up to August 10, 2010 it may be downloaded from Allama Iqbal Open University website or a fresh form may be obtained from the nearest Regional Campuses / Coordinating Office.

Students are required to deposit their admission fee in the nominated branches of banks up to due date after filling the admission form by mentioning previous roll number, registration number and cell number.

Prospectus by Post

For getting prospectus by post, send the price of the required prospectus plus Rs.40 (postal charges) in the form of bank draft drawn in the name of Treasurer, Allama Iqbal Open University by August 15, 2010 at the address given below.

How to Obtain and Submit Admission Forms

Admission forms and prospectuses for all programs offered in Autumn 2010 Semester can be obtained from sale points at Main Campus, Regional Campuses / Coordinating Offices within country.

Admission forms along with the required fee can be submitted at the nationwide branches of First Women Bank, Bank Alfalah, Allied Bank and at the designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan and Habib Bank Limited. The details of designated branches is available in the prospectuses as well as in the Regional Offices.

Allama Iqbal Open University will not accept fee in  the shape of bank draft / pay order.

Admission Schedule

Last date for submission of Admission Form is August 31, 2010.

Within ten (10) days after the last date (w.e.f. September 1, 2010 to September 10, 2010) the schedule of admission with late fee charges is as under:

  • Matric: Rs.100
  • Intermediate / BA / PTC: Rs.200
  • Postgraduate programs: Rs.500

Within next ten (10) days (w.e.f. September 11, 2010 to September 20, 2010) admission can be obtained in all programs with double of above charges. After that the admission date will not be extended.

I have Diploma in Nursing & working in Saudi Arabia. Would you like to help me how can I pass BSC in Nursing by online.
