University of Engineering and Technology: Master Degree Admissions 2010

Applications are invited by University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on prescribed forms for admission to Master degree programs on full-time and part-time basis for Entry 2010.

All those who are employed shall be admitted on part-time basis only.

Master degree programs offered by each faculty are as under:

Faculty of Chemical, Mineral and Metallurgical Engineering

  2. M.Sc. Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
  3. M.Sc. Petroleum and Gas Engineering
  4. M.Sc. Mining Engineering
  5. M.Sc. Polymer Engineering
  6. M.Sc. Geological Engineering
  7. M.Sc. Geological Sciences

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

  1. M.Sc. Thermal Power Engineering
  2. M.Sc. Mechanical Design Engineering
  3. M.Sc. Manufacturing Engineering
  4. M.Sc. Engineering Management
  5. M.Sc. Mechatronics and Control Engineering

Faculty of Civil Engineering

  1. M.Sc. Hydraulics and Irrigation Engineering
  2. M.Sc. Geotechnical Engineering

General Eligibility Criteria

Only those candidates can apply who have passed Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) / Pakistan Council of Architects and Town-Planners (PCATP) accredited undergraduate degree in relevant discipline, securing at least 60% marks under annual/term system or CGPA 3 on the scale of 4 under semester system.

The details of relevant undergraduate disciplines and other eligibility criteria applicable to individual programs are mentioned in the postgraduate prospectus.

The applicants shall be required to appear in General Aptitude Test (GAT) to be held on October 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the respective departments. The areas of skills to be tested shall include:

  1. Analytical: 30%
  2. Mathematical: 40%
  3. English Language: 30%

The candidates securing 50% marks in the General Aptitude Test (GAT) shall appear for interview to be conducted by the respective departments. All are advised to contact the respective departments for the interview schedule.

Application Package

Application shall be filled online by logging on to http://admission.uet.edu.pk. The printout of the filled application form with the paid bank challan (printed with the application) and completed as per instructions available in the prospectus shall be submitted to the respective departments from September 20, 2010 to October 05, 2010 during working days (Fridays 8:00 a.m to 12:00 noon, Mondays to Thursdays 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).

Incomplete applications shall not be entertained.

Application processing and General Aptitude Test (GAT) fee of Rs.850 is to be deposited in the account No. 01287900621003 with Habib Bank Limited through the bank challan available with the printout of the application.

The prospectus can be had from the Convener, Admission Committee Office after handing over Copy No.1 of the paid bank challan.

  1. Availability of prospectus: September 20, 2010
  2. Last date for receipt of applications: October 05, 2010
  3. Holding of General Aptitude Test (GAT): October 10, 2010 (Sunday) at 10:00 a.m.

I have three years diploma in civil engineering from Rasul College in 1975. I want B-Tech Honour. How I can get that from UET Lahore. I am working with private firms since 1976 at a level of Construction Manager/Project Manager.
