University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, has invited applications for admission to Ph.D. program for Session 2011-2013 in the following subjects of basic health sciences: Anatomy, Immunology, Haematology, Biochemistry, Chemical Pathology, Behavioral Sciences, Human Genetics and Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Morbid Anatomy and Histopathology, Oral Pathology, Physiology and Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Medical Education and Nursing.
Eligibility Criteria
- A subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) or ETS, USA in the area of specialization chosen at the Ph.D. level must be cleared prior to admission for the Ph.D. program.
- The minimum CGPA should be 3.0 (out of 4.0 in the semester system) or first division (in the annual system) in M.Phil./equivalent degree.
Selection Criteria
1. A subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) or ETS, USA in the area of specialization chosen at the Ph.D. level must be cleared prior to admission for the Ph.D. program.
a. In the case of GAT Subject test (http://www.nts.org.pk/) a minimum of 60% marks is required to pass the test.
b. In case GRE subject test, the minimum score will be acceptable as follows:
- 50% Percentile Score: Valid for Admissions until December 31, 2011.
- 60% Percentile Score: Valid for Admissions thereafter.
c. If the Test is not available in NTS subject list, then a University Committee consisting of at least 3 Ph.D. faculty members in the subject area and approved by the HEC will conduct the test at par with GRE Subject Test and qualifying score for this will be 70% score.
2. The candidates should specify their proposed research topic and its description along with the admission form.
Application Forms
Applications along with attested copies of degrees/ certificates, experience certificates, CNIC and three passport size photographs must reach the office of Director (Admin and Coord) by November 30, 2011. No application will be entertained after November 30, 2011.
Those who are in service and applicants desirous to attend the course on deputation basis must apply through proper channel. Incomplete applications shall not be entertained.
