Government College University, Lahore, has announced of full-time admissions to Ph.D. program for academic year 2012 in the following disciplines:

- Physics
- Psychology
- Urdu
- Zoology
Application Procedure
Prospectus is available at Askari Bank Limited, 6-Chatterjee Road, Faqir Plaza, Urdu Bazar, Lahore on payment of Rs.500 from January 23, 2012.
Admission form can also be downloaded from the GC University website. In case of downloaded Form, a bank draft of Rs.550 in favor of “Treasurer, GC University Lahore” shall have to be attached.
Duly filled in application form with requisite documents must be submitted in the office of Deputy Registrar (Admission) by February 06, 2012 during office hours i.e. 08:00 am to 04:00 pm (Monday to Friday).
Eligibility
MS / M.Phil. / equivalent degree of minimum 30 Credit Hours which includes 24 credit hours of course work and 06 credit hours of research work/ thesis from any Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized university, with at least 3.00/4.00 CGPA (in semester system) or 60% marks (in annual system).
Research work of minimum 06 credit hours in MS / M.Phil. program is mandatory.
Candidate must have qualified GAT-Subject Test with minimum of 60% marks conducted by NTS or GRE-Subject (a minimum of 60% percentile) conducted by ETS, USA, prior to admission for the Ph.D. program. In case of discipline of Biotechnology where the test is not available, the Admission Test will be conducted by the Institute of Industrial Biotechnology (IIB). Candidate should get a minimum of 70% marks. Admission Test date will be announced by IIB.
Note
- HEC awardees are encouraged to apply.
- Admission form will not be accepted without the following:
- NOC from employer in case of employee stating that he/she will be on leave during Ph.D.
- In case of Semester System, transcript of MS / M.Phil. indicating total credit hours and CGPA (obtained/total).
- In case of Annual System, a certificate from the department/ university, that the candidate has secured 1st division under annual system of examinations.
- Candidates appearing in NTS, GAT-Subject to be held on February 19, 2012 are also eligible to apply.
