
Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET), Karachi, has announced of admissions schedule for the Batch 2011-2012.
Dawood College of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, is one of the premier engineering and architecture institution of Pakistan. Established in 1962, DCET is a chartered degree awarding institution, approved by Higher Education Commission (HEC) and accredited by PEC as well as PCATP. It has been devolved to Government of Sindh under 18th Constitutional Amendment.
Applications are invited for admission to First Year in following Bachelor’s degree programs:
- Architecture and Planning
- Chemical Engineering
- Computer System Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Energy and Environment Engineering
- Industrial Engineering and Management
- Metallurgy and Materials Engineering
- Telecommunication Engineering
- Petroleum and Gas Engineering
Regular Scheme
Candidates applying under regular scheme against the seats reserved for Sindh (Urban/Rural), Azad Jammu and Kashmir, sons and daughters of IHK Refugees, teaching and non- teaching staff of DCET, professional architect/ engineers etc. are required to do so on the prescribed application form obtainable from the designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) on payment of Rs.1500 only and Rs.150 bank commission.
Candidates seeking admission on nomination seats reserved for the Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, federal capital Islamabad, Gilgat Baltistan, FATA, GHQ, OIC, Central Asian Region and Dawood Foundation should apply directly to their respective nominating agencies.
Self Finance Scheme
Admission under Self Finance Scheme on additional 70 seats for Pakistani nationals and 30 seats for foreign candidates belonging to Islamic/ friendly countries are offered in First Year for the same disciplines as in regular scheme with the same academic qualifications as required for regular schemes with the exception that candidates with B.Sc. and Diploma of Associate Engineer shall not be eligible for self-finance scheme. In case seats reserved for foreigners remain vacant due to any reason, they could be filled by Pakistani nationals. Separate application forms should be used for regular and self-finance schemes.
Application Forms of Pakistani nationals completed in all respects and attached with bank draft / pay order of Rs.400,000 (Rupees four lacs only) and Rs.500,000 (Rupees five lacs only) from foreigners drawn in favor of the Principal, DCET should be submitted in the designated branches of the bank latest by February 10, 2012.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Academics
The basic qualification for admission in First year classes in the above said branches is H.Sc. (Pre-Engineering) examination passed in the year 2011 or earlier but not later than annual examination of 2008 with optional subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and have secured at least 60% marks from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan.
In addition, the candidates who have passed Intermediate (General Science group ICS) with a combination of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Studies / Computer Science in annual examination 2011 earlier up to annual examination of 2008 and have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent examination as recognized by the HEC recognized degree awarding institution/ university and equivalence certificate from the Chairman Inter-Board Committee Islamabad are also eligible for admission in Electronic Engineering, Computer system Engineering and Telecommunication Engineering.
2. Domicile and PRC
Candidates for admission under above categories must have Permanent Residence Certificate and Domicile Certificate in respective province Urban / Rural areas.

I am student of Fsc and I really want to get admission in Dawood college
My son Ibadullah Khan has passed F.Sc Pre-Engineering with 826 marks from Edward Coolege Peshawar in the year 2011. Let me know how he will apply under reserve seat for KPK and where from he will obtain admission form and place of submission may also be mentioned. Thanks.
I have cleared entry test but waited for interview letter so for please confirm how much time further management of Dawood College would be taken in issuing of letters.
