GC University Faisalabad: Admissions to Master’s Programs for Spring Semester 2011

Government College University Faisalabad (GC University Faisalabad) has invited applications on the prescribed forms for admission to the following degree programs (Morning/Evening) for Spring Semester 2011.

Master’s degree programs (2-year morning)

The schedule for admissions to M.A./M.Sc. programs in Arabic, Education, Pakistan Studies, Statistics, and Urdu is given as under:

Eligibility:

  1. Both male and female candidates are eligible for admission.
  2. The candidates who have passed BA/B.Sc./B.Com. or equivalent examination in annual 2010 or supplementary 2010 will be considered for admission for respective programs.
  3. The following shall be eligible to apply for admission: a: Obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate, b: Obtained 45% marks in the subject in which admission is being sought (where applicable) c: Maximum age limit is 26 years on the last date of receipt of applications, however, age may be relaxed in special cases.
  4. Admission on various reserved seats will be granted as per University policy.
  5. Admission is granted strictly on merit in accordance with the criteria laid down by the University.
  6. No Objection Certificate (NOC) is required from the candidates, who have passed B.A./B.Sc./ B.Com. or equivalent examination from institutions other than GC University Faisalabad.

Master’s degree programs (2-year evening)

The schedule for admissions to Pakistan Studies, Political Science, Geography, Industrial Management (3½-year) is given as under:

Eligibility:

  1. Both male and female candidates are eligible for admission.
  2. The candidates who have passed BA/B.Sc./B.Com. or equivalent examination in annual 2010 or supplementary 2010 will be considered for admission for respective programs. However, if the gap is more than the above cited limit, the merit will be determined by deducting 10 marks.
  3. The following shall be eligible to apply for admission: a: Obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate, b: Obtained 45% marks in the subject in which admission is being sought (where applicable) c: Maximum age limit is 26 years on the last date of receipt of applications, however, age may be relaxed in special cases.
  4. Admission on various reserved seats will be granted as per University policy.
  5. Admission is granted strictly fin merit in accordance with the criteria laid down by the University.
  6. No Objection Certificate (NOC) is required from the candidates, who have passed BA/B.Sc./ B.Com. or equivalent examination from institutions other than GC University Faisalabad.

Reserved Seats

For Morning Programs: Besides the open merit, the candidates may apply against the reserved seats (2% seats for sports, 2% seats for disabled, 1% for university staff and 1% for University teaching and non-teaching employees children, 5% for FATA and Balochistan, 2% for co-curricular activities and 5% for overseas Pakistanis).

For Evening Programs: Besides the open merit, the candidates may apply against the reserved seats (1% for University staff, 1% + 1% for University teaching and non-teaching employees children).

Prospectus

Prospectus will be available at the following branches of National Bank of Pakistan, Faisalabad, on payment of Rs.500.

  • Jinnah Colony branch (University Booth), Jinnah Colony branch, Clock Tower branch, Peoples Colony branch, Samanabad branch, Noorpur branch, Ghulam Muhammad Abad branch

Candidates can also download Admission Form from the Government College University Faisalabad website (www.gcuf.edu.pk) and attach a bank draft of Rs.500 in favor of Treasurer, GC University, Faisalabad.

The Admission Forms complete in all respects should reach the office of the respective departments by February 10, 2011 during office hours.

Government College University Faisalabad reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason.

Admission Schedule

  • Last date for receipt of admission forms: February 10, 2011
  • Display of first merit list: February 17, 2011
  • Payment of dues: February 18-21, 2011
  • Display of second merit list: February 23, 2011
  • Payment of dues: February 24-25, 2011
  • Left over cases (list and dues): March 01-02, 2011
  • Commencement of classes: March 04, 2011

  8. although the details winch have been given by uni are fantastic yet there must be given a little bit age rebet for all private students who have very less time to pay their education but are ready and devoted and punctuate to be a regulate student i request to respectable DEAN of the uni my suggestion should be under perciev and cogitate tnx
