MS / M.Phil. Engineering/ IT/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Virology & Immunology

  • Minimum 16 years of schooling or 4 years education after F.Sc./A-Level in relevant field with minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 (3.0 out of 5.0) in terminal (Bachelor’s / Master’s) degree.

M.Phil.Medical Sciences / Dental Materials

  • MBBS / BDS with minimum 55% marks.

M.Phil. Business Administration

  • MBA /M.Com / MS Economics with minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (3.75 out of 5.0) or 70% marks.

MBA / MS Economics

  • 16 years of schooling with minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 (3.5 out of 5.0) or 60% marks.

EMBA / MS Economics (3 years)

  • Minimum 14 years of schooling.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience is mandatory for EMBA.
  • Qualifying NUST test / GAT (General) is mandatory.

Following is also applicable:

  • No 3rd division and only one 2nd division is allowed in academic career for all programmes less EMBA for which a candidate may have more than one 2nd division.
  • Qualifying GAT (General) with minimum 50 raw score or minimum accepted scores* in GRE (General) / GMAT / MCAT (as applicable) is mandatory for all disciplines (less EMBA / MS Economics – 3 years)
  • Score of GAT held after 01 October 2008 will be accepted.

* Minimum Accepted Scores

  • GRE (General)
    • Quantitative 650/800
    • Verbal 500/800
    • Analytical Writing 4.0/6.0
    • GMAT/MCAT 50 percentile

Important Details

Candidates, who have appeared in final exam and are awaiting result may also apply provided they submit their complete result by the August 20, 2010.

Candidates who are appeanng in GAT (Gen) to be held on July 4, 2010 can also apply.

Candidates can only apply online through NUST website:

NUST institution code to receive GRE and GMAT is 7014 and 7035 respectively.

Foreign Students

Foreign nationals / Pakistanis holding foreign nationality are also eligible. They will have to pay fee in US dollars.

NUST Scholarships

Sufficient number of NUST scholarships and tuition fee waivers are available for deserving students. Scholarship holders of MS / M.Phil. leading to Ph.D. programs will be paid stipend of Rs.8,000 to Rs.12.000 per month, in addition to tuition fee and miscellaneous expenditure related to research work.

HEC Scholarship awardees are encouraged to apply.

    I have done BE Civil From NUST and want to take admission for MS degree. Is there any provision by NUST to give late admission to desirous candidate if he/she fulfills the admission criteria?

    I intend to do MBA Executive from NBS. I did graduation in 1996 with double maths and stat.I did my B.Ed in 2007 and Masters in History in 2009. I am associated with teaching profession for 12 years and I am working as the academic coordinator for the past two years. Am I eligible to apply for the above mentioned program. I believe I am a hard working person and a quick learner.

    What do you suggest I have to do to apply for MBA Executive from NBS.

    AOA Sir, is there any solution if one could not clear in this GAT general of July 2010 and what to get admission in MPhil in AMC. Can’t you kindly accept GAT general score of Sept. session for admission in November in Bio and Medical sciences in AMC.
