QAU Islamabad: MBA and Bachelor’s Admissions for Spring Semester 2013

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, has announced of admissions to MBA and Bachelor’s degree programs for spring semester 2013.

MBA 1.5 and 2 Years Program

Applications on the prescribed forms are invited for admission in the following programs by January 30, 2013 positively:

MBA2 YearsAt least 2nd Division in BCS (4 years), BIT (4 years), MBBS, BE and other non-business 4 years Bachelors.

Ineligibility

  1. The following are not eligible for admission to MBA program:
    1. Who have been rusticated or expelled from any university or college for misconduct or use of unfair means in the examinations or any offence involving moral turpitude:
    2. Who were admitted earlier but later were declared to have been ceased to be students of the university:
    3. Who are currently on the rolls of this or any other university.
  2. No Objection Certificate from the employer is required to be attached with Admission Form and routed through Proper Channel in case of in-service applicants.

Subject Test

  • GAT-General conducted by the National Testing Service (www.nts.org.pk) with a minimum 50% cumulative score is required for admission;
  • Applicants who do not hold the valid GAT-General result are advised to register themselves with NTS by January 19, 2013 for QAU Special GAT-General scheduled on January 27, 2013.
  • Only GAT-General passed candidates will be considered for admission to MBA (both programs), without giving any credit to the test score.
  • The admission shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from previous academic record.

Intake

Seats will be filled both on Regular (Regional/Provincial quota) as well as Self-Finance basis. Top 50% seats will be filled on Regular Basis and the rest on Self-Finance, *

Reserved Seats

  1. One seat is reserved for admission of the children of army personnel and would be offered only on the nomination of GHQ.
  2. One seat in each department of the Quaid-i-Azam University is reserved for minorities subject to production of certificate from the institution last attended that the candidate belongs to the minority community.
  3. One seat in each department of the university is reserved for admission of disabled persons subject to the condition that the disabled person must provide his/her disability certificate duly issued by the District Assessment Board along with other conditions as approved by the University Statutory Bodies.

Hostel Accommodation

The university hostel accommodations will be provided on availability.

Financial Assistance/ Scholarships

Quaid-i-Azam University will provide financial assistance to the needy and the deserving/meritorious students admitted on regular basis.

Equivalence Certificates and Conversion of Grades into Marks

  • Applicants having foreign certificates/degrees shall be required to provide equivalence certificates and conversion of the grades into marks from Higher Education Commission, Islamabad for Bachelor level degrees and from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) for Matric and Intermediate levels. Certificates/degrees with CGPA of local universities/ institutions are also required conversion of grades into marks from the universities/ institutions concerned in Pakistan.
  • For all practical purposes MBA degree is equivalent to MS degree.

How to Apply

  1. An applicant seeking admission to MBA program shall apply on the prescribed admission form. the admission forms along with prospectus can be obtained from:
    1. The QAU Campus branches of Habib Bank Ltd. and Askari Bank Ltd. for Rs.800 or
    2. Application forms can be submitted “online” at QAU website where all relevant instructions are available.
    3. Three copies of the prescribed admission form duly filled in and supported by the attested copies of educational certificates/degrees may be submitted at Admission Camp Office at the back of DRSM (Central) Library during office hours latest by January 30, 2013.
  2. Incomplete and late application forms shall not be entertained.

Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS)

Applications on the prescribed forms are invited for admission in Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS) by January 30, 2013 positively:

Ineligibility

The following are not eligible for admission to BBS program:

  1. Those who have failed in Master’s program of QAU;
  2. Those who have ceased to be the student of Quaid-i-Azam University;
  3. Those who already possess a Master’s or an equivalent degree from this or any other university;
  4. Students who are already on rolls of QAU or any other university;
  5. Those who are more than 26-years old.

Written Test

  1. The NAT-II (any category) conducted by National Testing Service (NTS) with a minimum 40% cumulative score is required for admission to BBS.
  2. Applicants who do not hold the valid NTS NAT-II (any category) results are advised to register themselves with NTS latest by January 19, 2013 for QAU Special NAT-II (any category) scheduled on January 27, 2013. Information is available on NTS website.
  3. Only NTS NAT-II (any category) passed candidates will be considered for admission to BBS which will be determined purely on merit basis without giving any credit to the test score.

Equivalence Certificates and Conversion of Grades into Marks

  1. Applicants having foreign certificates/degrees shall be required to provide equivalence certificates and conversion of the grades into marks from HEC, Islamabad for Bachelor level degrees and from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) for Matric and Intermediate levels. Certificates/degrees with CGPA of local universities/ institutions are also required conversion of grades into marks from the universities/ institutions concerned in Pakistan.
  2. BBS graduates will be eligible to apply for MBA (1.5 years) program.
