Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, has announced of admission to M.Phil. program for Spring Semester 2013.

Applications on the prescribed forms are invited for admission to M.Phil. program of the university in the following subjects.

Admission Requirement

  1. The applicants must have to their credit to submit to the Quaid-i-Azam University:
    1. 1st Division in M.A./M.Sc. degree or its equivalent or in B.A./B.Sc. but no 3rd division in M.A./M.Sc. or B.A./B.Sc. or at least 55% marks in BS (Hons) and all other 4 to 5;
    2. In case of 3rd division in F.A./F.Sc., the applicants should have 1st division in both B.A./B.Sc. and M.A./M.Sc. or its equivalent degree or at least 60% marks in BS (Hons) and all other 4 to 5 years degrees;
  2. No Objection Certificate from the employer is required to be attached with Admission Form and routed through Proper Channel in case of in-service applicants;
  3. The following are not eligible for admission to M.Phil. program:
    1. Who have been rusticated or expelled from any university or college for misconduct or use of unfair means in the examinations or any offence involving moral turpitude;
    2. Who were admitted earlier to M.Phil. program but later were declared to have been ceased to be students of the university:
    3. Who are currently on the rolls of this or any other university.

Subject Test

  1. The GAT-General conducted by the National Testing Service with a minimum 50% cumulative score is required for admission to M.Phil.;
  2. The admission to M.Phil. program shall be made on the basis of cumulative merit to be determined from previous academic record, university written subject test and interview;
  3. No separate call up letters for test/interview will be issued;
  4. Only the test pass applicants will appear for the interview as per schedule of the department/school/institute/center concerned,
  5. The lists of the pass applicants shall be displayed on the notice boards of the relevant department / school / institute / center as well as on the university website;
  6. Test sample papers are available on the Quaid-i-Azam University website.

Note: If, for any reason, a test date is declared as holiday, the test will be conducted on the next working day. This will also further shift the other test(s) if scheduled on the same date(s) if scheduled on the same date(s) to next working day.

How to Apply

  1. An applicant seeking admission to M.Phil. program shall apply on the prescribed Admission Form. The Admission Forms along with prospectus can be obtained from:
    1. The QAU Campus branches of Habib Bank Ltd. and Askari Bank Ltd. for Rs.800 or
    2. Download from QAU website.
  2. Three copies of the prescribed Admission Form duly filled in and supported by the attested copies of Educational Certificates / Degrees may be submitted directly to the respective Director / Chairperson of Department / School / Institute / Centre by January 17, 2013.
  3. Incomplete and late applications shall not be entertained.
