University of Agriculture, Faisalabad: Undergraduate Admissions for Session 2011-2012

University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, logoUniversity of Agriculture, Faisalabad, has invited applications on the prescribed forms for admission to Intermediate (Pre-Agriculture) certificate and undergraduate degree courses at its main campus and College of Agriculture, Dera Ghazi Khan as well as sub-campus at Toba Tek Singh for session 2011-2012.

The university is a leading professional agriculture institution of Pakistan having more than 50% Ph.D. holder faculty,

The applicants who are domiciled in the Punjab and have passed the examination mentioned against each certificate/degree course or an examination acceptable as equivalent thereto from a recognized institution stand eligible to apply for admission.

The students who have completed Intermediate (Pre-Agriculture) certificate from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, securing minimum CGPA 2.50/4.00 also stand eligible to apply for admission in 1st degree courses against the reserved seats. Their admission will be made on the basis of inter see merit and Entry Test (where applicable) marks.

Common admissions will be made in B.Sc. Agri. Engineering/Food Engineering. On completion of foundation courses in first four semesters, the student(s) will exercise their choice to opt for B.Sc. Agri. Engineering or Food Engineering which would be allotted to them in 5th semester on the basis of their CGPA obtained at the end of 4th semester, in order of merit-cum-choice.

The details of courses, minimum required marks excluding 20 marks of Hafiz-e-Quran (except B.Ed.) are given below.

* The classes of Intermediate (Pre-Agriculture) certificate will be held at PARS.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 18 years for Intermediate (Pre-Agriculture) and 23 years for other degree programs as on September 1, 2011. The competent authority may, however, relax upper age limit condition to a candidate, if selected provisionally. However, there is no age restriction for B.Ed. program.


The prospectus including blank admission application forms for each course separately may be obtained on cash payment from: (i) Habib Bank Limited, University of Agriculture branch for all the courses offered at the main Campus, (ii) Office of the Principal, Dera Ghazi Khan campus for B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, (iii) Office of the Principal, Toba Tek Singh campus for B.Sc.(Hons.) Poultry Science.

The interested candidates may download the application forms from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, website. However, before its submission in the concerned faculty/division/sub-campus complete in all respects up to the last date, they should also attach bank draft/pay order worth Rs.1,500 in favor of the Treasurer, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, prepared by any scheduled bank drawn and payable at NBP/HBL, University of Agriculture branches.

Priority for Candidates Belonging to Rural Areas

In Intermediate (Pre-Agriculture) certificate, B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. Sciences, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agri. at D.G. Khan and D.V.M. degree courses preference is given to the candidates having rural background. Such applicants are required to submit prescribed application form of green color and proof of rural background as per details indicated on the back of said form, in support to their claim.

Scholarship/Financial Assistance

The scholarship/financial assistance for needy students are available under Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, UAF Need Based, USAID Funded Merit and Need Based Scholarships and other government/semi-government sponsoring agencies.

Admission on Sports Basis

The Punjab domiciled candidates irrespective of gender on the basis of excellence in sports may also submit application for admission to all first degree courses (except B.Ed.) on the prescribed blue colored form in addition to open merit. The said form will be sold separately on demand. One form can be used for all the degree courses.

The complete application be submitted within due date in the office of the Director Sports for Faisalabad campus courses and at sub-campuses respectively.

The trials for selection of candidates will be held at Faisalabad from September 22 to 24, 2011. The detail of each event is available in the concerned Directorate.

Entry Test

For admission to D.V.M.

It is mandatory to qualify NAT test for admission to D.V.M. under its all admission categories being conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) at the Faculty of Veterinary Science premises on Friday the August 26, 2011 at 9:00 am.

The foreign students (except Afghan refugees) are exempted from appearing in the test. The interested candidates are advised to peruse advertisement of NTS or contact at (042) 99239258 or visit for registration of test and other details in this respect.

There will be no financial or other liability/responsibility on the part of this University as far as the conduct of entry test is concerned.

The minimum score to qualify Entry Test/apply for admission is 40%. Their merit will be determined on the weightage of 70% marks of Intermediate and 30% of entry test. Such applicants are required to attach test result conducted on the above date along with their applications in addition to other enclosures.

Since specific test has been devised for admission to D.V.M., therefore, the results of previous NTS tests or the test not conducted through University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, will not be acceptable.

For admission to B.Sc. Agri. Engineering/Food Engineering

The Entry Test for admission to these degree programs under all admission categories will be conducted by the Faculty of Agri. Engineering and Technology as per following schedule. The minimum passing marks in the test are 50%.

  • Test in the faculty premises: September 09, 2011 at 10.00 am
  • Display of test result on the faculty notice board/university website: September 10, 2011

Admission Under ‘Evening College’ Category

Some seats in undergraduate degree courses except B.Ed. are available under this category for applicants irrespective of their gender and domicile. The minimum eligibility criteria is the same as prescribed for open merit indicated against each course and qualifying Entry Test (where applicable).

The Punjab domicile candidates should also apply for each course on open merit in addition to prescribed pink colored form meant for this category.

This form will also be sold separately on demand. The entry fee in addition to normal dues would be as under which may be deposited in lump-sum before submission of application form. However, in deserving cases, the fee can be split over the whole degree program in equal installments. Other terms, conditions, detailed procedure for making payment, may be perused in the prospectus.

After completion of admission against allocated seats under ‘Evening College’ category with the candidates who applied within due date by depositing amount of entry fee/completing other admission formalities, the university reserves the right to allow admission to the candidates having higher marks who already applied on open merit but could not get admission on open merit, by allocating additional seats/adjustment of un-utilized seats under various categories.

  • Rs, 200,000 (Rupees two lac only) for B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. Sciences, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture (D.G. Khan Campus), B.Sc. (Hons) Home Economics and B.Sc. (Hons) Poultry Science (Toba Tek Singh campus) degree programs.
  • Rs.300,000 (Rupees three lac only) for B.Sc. Agri. Engineering/Food Engineering.
  • Rs.350,000 (Rupees three lac and fifty thousand) for D.V.M.

Last Date, Selection and Display of Merit Lists

Separate application for each certificate/degree program along with requisite documents should reach in the respective offices up to Wednesday, September 7, 2011 within office hours.

Incomplete applications and those received after the expiry of last date even if dispatched by post or other means earlier, shall not be accepted in any case.

The selection of candidates shall be made on merit according to the marks obtained in last examination and Entry Test marks (where applicable).

No intimation for admission will be sent and the candidates shall check themselves their names from the provisional lists displayed on the notice boards of the respective faculties/division/ head of sub-campus on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. These lists for Faisalabad campus courses will also be floated on the university website.

The selected candidates are required to deposit dues and complete other admission formalities within the notified dates, failing which the admission shall be considered as cancelled automatically and admission of next candidate will be notified. The lists for ‘Evening College’ category will be displayed after finalization of admissions under all categories.
