University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir: Admissions for Session 2012

The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, has announced of admissions to Ph.D., M.S., M.Phil., LL.M., M.A., M.Sc., and MBA degree programs for the session 2012.

Campus / DisciplineEligibility Criteria
Muzaffarabad Campus
i) Ph.D. / MS / M.Phil.Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, English, Zoology, Economics, Computer Sciences, Mathematics and Biotechnology (all Biological Sciences including Plant Sciences, Animal Sciences, Human Health and Environmental Sciences).NormalFor M.Phil, Master Degree (16 year) in the relevant subject, B.Sc. (Hons.), BS 4 Year or equivalent at least with second division in the field of study. For Ph.D., M.Phil. or equivalent in the relevant field of study.If an employee of the government/other agencies is selected for the admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. program, he/ she shall have to take study leave to pursue studies as a regular student.

The M.S. / M.Phil. candidate shall provide GAT (General) test result conducted by National Testing Service (NTS) with application form. Ph.D. candidate shall provide GAT (subject) test result conducted by NTS as required by HEC for admissions.

In subjects / disciplines where GAT subject test is not available in Pakistan, the applicants will have to fulfill the entry/admission test requirements as per Higher Education Commission (HEC) criteria.

The requirement for LL.M., B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)/ LL.B. 17 year education or equivalent at least with 2nd division. Remaining all the conditions for LL.M. will be same as for M.S./ M.Phil.

Note:

i) The candidates applying for MBA 3½ year, MBA 1½year, M.Com., M.Sc. (HRM), M.Sc. Banking and Finance, M.Sc. Enterprise Management and Development will have to pass entry test as per HEC requirement. The Candidates who have already appeared in BBA and B.Com examinations can also apply provided they submit a hope certificate from the concerned institution.

ii) Where the number of Candidates is less than requirement, the decision of the commencement of the class will finally rest with the Authority.

2) Nominated against reserved seats through nominating authorities: i) College Teacher’s son/ Daughter through Secretary Education Colleges ii) School Teacher’s son/ Daughter through Secretary Education schools iii) Army seat through GHQ iv) Applicants from Gilgit and Baltistan through Concerned Nomination Board. v) Disabled through University Medical Board. vi) Refugees (Settled in Pakistan and AJK) 25% vii) Pakistan National (one for each province) through Concerned Nomination Board. viii) Foreign students shall be selected through the Ministry of Education. ix) Sports seat through University Sports Committee. x) University Teachers and Employees’ Son/ Daughter nominated by the University xi) 25% Quota (self-Supports) for AJK National and Others.

3) Maximum age limit for M.A/M.Sc. is 27 year. Application form against nominated seats must reach the Directorate of Students’ Affairs on or before the last date notified in this advertisement for the submission of applications.

How and where to Apply?

The applications must be sent on prescribed forms. The prospectus and application forms can be obtained from the Directorate of Students’ Affairs, AJK University Muzaffarabad or Deputy Director Students’ Affairs Kotli campuses against payment of Rs.1,000 through a Habib Bank Limited challan available at authorized branches in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Alternatively, by sending a bank draft of Rs.1,100 drawn in the name of Director Finance and Planning University of AJK. A candidate applying for more than one department/category should deposit Rs.300 for each additional form.

Completed applications must reach the Directorate of Students’ Affairs at their concerned campuses not later than January 20, 2013.

The application form is also available on University of AJK website. The HBL Bank Limited challan for Rs.1,000 or bank draft amounting Rs.1,100 must be attached with Application Form, otherwise, the form will not be entertained.

Required Documents

1) Attested copies of all educational certificates and Degrees

2) Character Certificate issued by the college last attended

3) Migration certificate in case of Masters/ Graduation from institutions other than AJK University

4) A copy of Domicile and State subject certificate

5) A copy of National Identity Card

6) Four recent passport size photographs.

Admission Schedule

The last date for receipt of application form completed in all respects January 20, 2013 up to 3:00 pm. Application received after the due date will not be entertained.

Entry Test will be held on January 28, 2013 for Ph.D. / M.Phil. / MCS/MBA at Muzaffarabad, for Ph.D. / M.Phil. / MS / MBA / MPA / M.Com / M.Sc. (Economics) / (HRM) / M.Sc. Enterprise Management and Development/ M.Sc. Banking and Finance at Kotli.

First and second merit list will be displayed on February 05, 2013 and February 08, 2013, respectively. Admission fee and other dues will be deposited on February 05, 2013 to February 12, 2013. Interviews will be held on the same date. Candidates are required to bring original documents/degrees for verification at the time of interview.
